Fall Wedding Season Trends for Food Service

Updated: Jan 15

Below are the top 3 food service wedding trends for this upcoming fall season. While the trends are geared towards weddings, they can also be incorporated into most other events, as well. Take a peek and see if any of the trends below can be incorporated into your next event!

Individualized/Personal Food Displays

Bamboo boats with fresh berries, cheddar, and rice crackers on a table with flowers. Sign reads "Bamboo Boats w/ Fresh Berries, Cheddar, Rice Crackers."

Personal food displays are trending now, thanks to the current health climate, and boy are they cute! Six Star loves to use minis of serving dishes to display appetizers and other cuisine in attractive and creative ways. Think mini clothespins, bamboo cups, tiny spoons, soup shooters… the list goes on!

Mini Wedding Cakes

Dessert cups with mixed berries and white hand decorations on a silver tray, surrounded by yellow petals, create an elegant display.

This is another trend that couples are opting for in the name of the health safety. Instead of having guests crowd around the main cake and watch the newly weds cut each other cake, the wedding cake can be re-imagined and created so that each guest gets their own little personal-sized version of the cake.  A bite-sized wedding cake with a twee topper will be totally Instagrammable.

Plated Dinner Service

Roast beef slices, mashed potatoes, green beans, and a patty on a plate with two sauces in spoons; garnished with herbs.

A plated dinner service is the name of the game if you’re looking for an impressive way to serve guests and reduce the amount of people coming in contact with the food. A buffet has always been a great way to serve guests but there’s no doubt that with a buffet, there will be a lot of contact between all of your guests and all of the food. Six Star knows how to pull off buffet dinner service exceptionally well, but we always like wow-ing guests with a perfectly executed plated dinner service, too!
